TROPICAL STORM IRENE UPDATE – 10/28/2011

The Board of Selectmen had a meeting on October 21, 2011 with the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation to review the Rocky Branch River situation.  The Selectmen also had a meeting with State and Federal officials along with representatives of NH’s Congressional delegation to review progress of all the flood repairs progress and specifically trying to get a coordinated game plan for the Rocky Branch River.

The Selectmen are awaiting word from the Natural Resources and Conservation Service regarding funding for the Rocky Branch debris removal and re-channeling project.  The Town has applied for a reduction in the Town’s share of 25% to 10% and are awaiting word on that application.  We have asked for support from our Senators and Congressmen in our efforts.
